When winter suddenly arrived

It was around 9 o'clock in the morning. I was woken up by noises coming from outside. I was familiar with the noise, but I could't figure out what exactly it was. I hadn't heard it for more than two years. It took me a moment to figure out what it was. My thought on what it could be was just so surreal. I glanced out of the window and my eyes needed a second to adjust to the light coming from outside. What beauty. All year I've been waiting for this! The neighbours houses were buried underneath a rather thick layer of snow. I got really excited and looked ran to the other side of the house to see whether it would be the same in my garden. And it was. The pines were covered in white and so was the rest of the garden.
I sprinted downstairs and outside, into the garden and I just didn't care anymore. I didn't care about wearing a cozy animal onesie. I didn't care about what others would think if they saw me. I didn't care about the freezing cold. I felt like a child again. I grabbed a pile of snow and threw it. Then I smiled and went back inside with the greatest amount of satisfaction one can possibly achieve on a weekday morning.
