Portugal Day 3: Sweets for Breakfast, a day bed and hidden treasures

This wonderful miniature cake is called Pasteis de Nata. It basically tastes like custard cream in puff pastry. Had one almost everyday for breakfast, because it was on the buffet. Delicious !!!

What a breath taking landscape. I just love the way that little island in the middle looks like some child just took sand and poured it on there.

I went treasure hunting !... um... not really. This was just somewhere near the parking spot. I can only speculate how that got there.

Bubble gum flavoured ice cream. I expected more bubble gum flavour than sugar flavour.

Giant day bed. Best comfy thing at the beach.

The best sparkling water I've had in Portugal. It's really fizzy and nearly impossible to drink all at once.

Portugal Day 2: Costa da Caparica, Rainbows and everything pretty

 The first beach I visited in Portugal. I believe it was Costa da Caparica.

Little air message. I thought that, that's a pretty cute idea. I saw about 3 during the whole 2 weeks staying there.

Had ice cream because it was pretty hot, even though I had a little swim shortly before.

 



Sushi time. I really like sushi. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have sea weed salad.



Could have told everybody that I was in Brazil or something.

Old, interesting bridge, which I thought looked stunning. That landscape !

All the metro station signs were as pretty as this one. I kind of thought that a lot of things in Portugal were cuter than at home...

Another touristic sightseeing point. Everything looks so perfect in sunlight, doesn't it.

WOW, look at those perfectly arranged bikini tops and bottoms. They're even reduced. I have never seen a shop put so much effort into selling their products, especially not during end-of-season-sales time. By the way, the shop that had this beautiful display was called Calzedonia.

Such a beautiful spot to take a picture, thought like every single person in Lisbon. The pictures still turned out pretty well, I guess.

 

I just love the taxis in Lisbon. They're sooooooooo much more elegant there, than in other countries.

Another really cute  rubbish bin. One of my favourite colours and really adorable. I saw another one  with Homer Simpson.

Cous cous with mint ice cream. Kind of odd but tres delicious. But they used quite a lot of garlic...

Window with plants in said restaurant. I like the rustic setting and interior of the restaurant in combination with the interesting food pairings.

 

 

Portugal Day 1 : Gigantic Ice Cream and pretty rubbish bins

A couple of weeks ago, I went on holiday to Portugal. I enjoyed every single hour (minor exceptions...) of being there. Unfortunately, I got up at around 8 and was out all day until around 11. Then obviously I got ready for bed and slept. The Wi-Fi wasn't working properly anyway, so I was forced to not upload any new blogposts. After that I had to unpack and sort and do other important things, so I didn't have time either. Finally I've found the time to sort out all the pictures I've taken, write what I want to write, etc. etc..
So without further ado: DAY 1 of my Portugal Holiday series ( which is more or less based on pictures not words)

Great view out of the plane window, whilst flying over the capital of Portugal, a couple of minutes before landing.

Pretty rubbish bins??? Was slightly confused, yet jealous. Why are they somewhat pretty? I've never seen such a thing...

A gigantic Magnum Ice Cream sculptury thing. Which was around 7 to 8 feet... I thought that the Special Edition Magnum was already over?!? Maybe not in Portugal ...

Touristic Sightseeing spot in Lisbon city centre. Forgot how it's called... have I ever actually known???

Large selection of one of my favourite syrups. MONIN. Too large and heavy to carry back home on the plane and no significant price difference. But still : They're delicious and look stunning ( better than other syrups ).
